2 Thessalonians 2:11

"For this reason, God will send them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie," 2 Thessalonians 2:11

Needs to be read in context but I want to comment on this sentence. "Powerful" is an adjective, but the Greek word UNDER "powerful" is a NOUN. KJV uses "strong", another adjective. This I just noticed when studying this Greek word under the English translation. The Greek word there is "ENERGY".

How does one properly translate this. Replacing a noun with an adjective doesn't seem like the best choice to me!

So we have "powerful" (ἐνέργεια G1753): Noun. working, action, productive work, activity; (the root of the English term "energy") – energy; "power in action" (Wm. Barclay, More NT Words, 46) occurs 8 times (in NT) – always of God's energy, except at 2 Thes 2:9.

And "delusion" (πλάνη G4106): Noun. a wandering; figuratively: deceit, delusion, error, sin. deviant behavior; a departure from what God says is true; an error (deception) which results in wandering (roaming into sin)

Lenski says, "... and because of this (refusing the love of the truth) God sends them ERROR'S WORKING so that they believe the lie in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in the (i.e., this) unrighteousness."

Lenski keeps both nouns intact.

They refused to love the truth. And we know JESUS is the Truth. The eternally living, breathing, LOGOS of God. We know Jesus by His word. Refusing a love for the truth is refusing a love for God and His word (Jesus, our only hope). What does God's word say? Many things. That is why we need to study. To turn our backs on everything else, seek God with all our heart, study His word, prayerfully. We don't want to be in the above mentioned error. And we don't want to be in error, period. To do this, we seek God and seek for Him to reveal to us His exact will, with all our heart, mind, soul and strength which is the first and greatest commandment. The second "is like unto it" Jesus said, we must love our neighbor (everyone) as ourselves. Jesus connected these two because we cannot do the second without GENUINELY doing the first! God tells us to do this for OUR OWN GOOD.

So let's repent with all our heart, turn our back on any and all idols, and seek God with all our heart. That is the Word of God. And His word is the TRUTH. And we need to LOVE THE TRUTH or else we are REFUSING TO LOVE IT. There is no middle ground when it comes to serving God. There is light and darkness, and these two are divided by the Almighty God. Which side are you going to be on? Pick the light, your eternal soul depends on it!

"Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law." Romans 13:10

Do not use ANYTHING as an excuse to NOT keep God's Word. Because if you do, you will not escape God's judgment and negative results which follow. Ask God to change your heart, now. Before it's too late.

“Go, wash in the pool of Siloam”

"Then He (Jesus) told him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which means Sent). So the man went and washed, and came back seeing. " John 9:7

He obeyed the Lord's words and what a reward he received! How long did he take to get to the pool. What thoughts would be running through your head? You've never seen anything in your life. Next to impossible to imagine. It really doesn't matter why Jesus asked him to wash in the pool of Siloam, does it(?). But Jesus wanted him to partake in this work with Jesus. What Jesus asks from us all in exchange for eternal life is the same as this story. It's a small thing we have to do. But we HAVE to do it if we want the reward. Just like this man, he had to do something. And that was, he needed to obey the Lord.

Jesus says, "Why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ but not do what I say?" (Luke 6:46)

"I will show you what he is like who comes to Me and hears My words and acts on them: He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid his foundation on the rock. When the flood came, the torrent crashed against that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears My words and does not act on them is like a man who built his house on ground without a foundation. The torrent crashed against that house, and immediately it fell—and great was its destruction.” Luke 6:47-49

If we hear God's words but don't act on them, we will be destroyed.

"Everyone who does not heed His words will be completely cut off from among the people.’" Acts 3:23

When are we going to take God's word seriously. Or, when are we going to take God's word MORE seriously, so we can GROW. We can always do more and go further when it comes to living our lives for Christ. Let's pray to God now in the name of His Anointed Son Jesus. And ask Him to help us become more able in our service to Him. Amen

FISH (Matthew 4:19)

"He told them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast it there, and they were unable to haul it in because of the great number of fish." John 21:6

It is really that simple. We must do what the Lord says if we want to win souls.

“Come, follow Me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.” Matthew 4:19

If we have no haul of "fish", we need to take that very seriously. Because it means we are not following Jesus, or we have not been following Him in truth for very long.

Paul says, "Let us not grow weary in well-doing, for in due time we will reap a harvest, if we do not give up." Galatians 6:9

So by the grace, mercy and power of God let's get up and/or continue serving Him, seeking Him, studying His word and talking to Him within our hearts. As Paul says, reaping a harvest is conditional on us NOT GIVING UP.

Hello everyone. I wanted to share some questions and answers from my page. You can view both the questions and answers on the pinned post on my page but I am repeating my answers to this dear soul here. If you would like to also see the questions, then kindly look at the last comments on my pinned post. I pray God bless you all today in Christ. Amen

1. Hello, It's fine to talk here and ask questions and such. What is it about the word "eventually" that's bothering you? What does "eventually" mean? The etymological dictionary says "eventually" is an adjective and means "pertaining to events." When seeking God and asking things of Him, events will happen chronologically. If things are asked sincerely. Or if not sincerely, He may answer another way. I think you misunderstand the word "eventually." The whole bible is full of "events to come." These events happen to the entire world and to each one of us, personally. "Eventually" is exactly right in the context I used it. What would suit you better? "Immediately"? Is that true? You know it isn't. Not always. Has it happened from time to time? Of course. But I added it to my sentence for those who haven't received something right away if and when they asked! I will not deprive hope from the asker! I will say, "eventually" you will receive it (if it's in God's will). That is what God says throughout His word. It is His will to give us His holy Spirit. It is why Christ raised from the dead and ascended to the Father. That He and the Father may work through the vessels here on earth that have come to faith and want what God wants. God wants to represent Himself in this exact way.

However, to receive God's Spirit in our heart, we must be ready to enter covenant with Him. This is all God's work and we must be open to His work and put down preconceived notions which arose from opinion or theories not based on God's Word.

Thank you for your comments and I pray the Lord blesses you.

2. Dear sir, "whosoever believeth" are the key words there my friend. "belief" is the same exact word as "faith." Faith is something powerful which God gives to those who ask and are at the exact right timing in their lives.. It is one of the most important words in the bible. Every word of God needs to be studied so we better understand what God is saying. "Faith" (according to the Bible) means we are moved by an unseen force. Namely, God. Taking one popular bible verse and making that your main doctrine is what cults do. I ask you to please not do that. We have to study all of God's words and put them together in an understandable and logical way.

I am not cherry picking scriptures and using them to try and twist the image of God. God puts conditions on every single one of His promises. To receive the promises we must go to Him on HIS terms! Jesus said many things. Like when He said "come to me" you who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest. First we must come to Him though. That means we have to go to HIM. Not what or who we THINK is Him. We have to somewhat even slightly PERCEIVE the one we are going to for blessings. But then Jesus tells us to do more. He says "take my yoke upon you." Well, what does that mean? That means we are to DO more things. Then He says "and LEARN of me..." So we have to learn! That means becomes His followers and disciples. That is something we strive to do everyday. He says, "for I am gentle and lowly of heart. And you will find rest for your souls." And then He says for my YOKE is easy (pleasant) and my BURDEN is light (Matthew 11:28-30). It's a light burden, but it's still a "burden" we need to carry. I'm sorry, but it's not so simple as you want it to be for some reason. Why? So you can continue living a worldly and sinful life? We are supposed to turn our back on that and serve God with all our heart. THAT is the first and greatest commandment! And the second is like unto it. We must love our neighbor as ourselves (Matthew 22:36-40). Why are these two connected? Because we can't do the second without GENUINELY doing the FIRST.

So I would say to you sir, make sure you do not try and annul God's greatest commandments which is the fulfillment of the law of Christ! You need to recognize your lack of knowledge and understanding and then go to the Lord and learn of Him. Then you will find rest unto your soul.

Best wishes to you, sir! (4/24/19)

Romans 15:1-4 and Galatians 6:2, 6:5 "burden" and "burden" and bearing our burdens and each other's burdens which fulfills the law of Christ!

"Now under obligation are we, the able, to bear the weaknesses of the unable and not [merely] to please our own selves. Let each of us please his neighbor for the Good with a view to upbuilding." Romans 15:1 Lenski

I love some of Lenski's commentary on this. He says, "If those who regard themselves among the strong and able fail to carry the weaknesses of the unable, they demonstrate that they are mistaken, that they still belong to the unable, that they, too, must still be carried."

Amen. I've seen this so clearly in some of the churches I've been to. This should teach us all to look at ourselves closely and be honest with ourselves. So we "take heed when we THINK (imagine) that we stand, lest we fall." (1 Corinthians 10:12) And to realize our weaknesses so that God is able to give us the strength (ability) to actually DO what He says. If we think we are able and yet are unable God cannot give us what we need. The very root word of petition and prayer is the acknowledgment of our lack, and bringing that acknowledgment before God so that He may give us what we so desperately NEED.

"Able" and "unable" are exact opposites, antonyms (dunatos and A/dunatos - Strong's Greek 1400/102). "Ought" means OBLIGATED [to]. To OWE. "Bear" is the English translation of the Greek word βαστάζω (Strong's 941). The exact Greek word is used by Paul in Galatians 6:2 when he says, "Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the Law of Christ." Later Paul says something similar, but very different. He says, "For each one should bear his own burden." (Galatians 6:5) "Burdens" in Galatians 6:2 is the English translation of the Greek word βάρος (Strong's 922). "Burden" used In Galatians 6:5 is the English translation of the DIFFERENT Greek word φορτίον (Strong's 5413). One of these burdens is heavier than the other. One of these burdens requires assistance, while the other does not. The second is the exact same Greek word in which Christ tells us "for my burden is LIGHT..." (Matthew 11:30b) THAT is the "burden" Paul tells us we must carry ourselves!

This is one example of why it is important to look at the Greek words underneath the substandard English translation. Especially the substandard KJV translation which makes it look like Paul is contradicting himself in Galatians 6:2 and 6:5!

And as in Galatians 6:2 we have the most powerful statement possibly in the New Covenant writings ("and so fulfill the law of Christ"), Paul's similar teachings in the epistle to the Romans expounds with a few more details and brings us to the very important statement,

A. "For even Christ did not please himself but, as it is written: “The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me.”

 B. "For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope."

Christ did this for us and we are taught to follow Christ's example. The whole written word of God tells us the same thing, "Love your neighbor as yourself." And thus fulfill the law of Christ!

Thomas Richards' Conversion Testimony

Please read my conversion testimony if you have a chance. It is hard to put into words something as powerful as God's salvation to the world. But I have edited it today and feel like it is finally somewhat presentable. May God bless you and fill you with faith as you read it. It is His work and glory through Christ Jesus. Amen
