Pope Francis calls child rapists ‘children of God’ deserving of ‘love’
Pope Francis raised some eyebrows while discussing sex abusers, whom he labeled “children of God” who deserve love and “pastoral care” — as well revolting “enemies” who must be punished.
The pontiff made his remarks last month during a private meeting with a group of Jesuit priests in Hungary, but they were only published Tuesday by La Civilta Cattolica, an Italian Jesuit journal.
“How do we approach, how do we talk to the abusers for whom we feel revulsion? Yes, they too are children of God. But how can you love them?” Francis was quoted as saying.
The 86-year-old leader of the Roman Catholic Church was responding to a question from a Hungarian Jesuit who asked: “The Gospel asks us to love, but how do we love at the same time people who have experienced abuse and their abusers?”
The pope acknowledged that the answer to this “powerful question” was “not easily at all.”
Francis explained that a sexual predator was to be condemned, “but as a brother” still deserving of love and care.
“There is a logic, a form of loving the enemy that is also expressed
in this way,” he added. “And it is not easy to understand and to live
out. The abuser is an enemy.”
While the pope was talking about sexual abuse writ large, the subtext to his answer is the staggering scandal that has rocked the Catholic Church involving generations of pedophile priests abusing hundreds of thousands of children all over the world.
As recently as last month, a Maryland state report revealed that more than 150 Catholic priests with the Archdiocese of Baltimore molested some 600 children, mostly with impunity, over the course of 80 years.
“When you hear what abuse leaves in the hearts of abused people, the
impression you get is very powerful,” Francis told his fellow Jesuits
during the April 29 meeting in Budapest, Hungary. “Even talking to the
abuser involves revulsion; it’s not easy.”
“But they are God’s children too,” he noted, referring to sexual predators. “They deserve punishment, but they also deserve pastoral care. How do we provide that? No, it is not easy.”
During his 10 years on the throne of St. Peter in the Vatican,
Francis has created a commission on child molestation prevention and has
tightened church laws addressing clerical sexual abuse.
But the pontiff’s efforts to redress the crisis have been hampered by a spate of high-profile resignations from his Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors.
Last week, Francis urged the remaining members of the panel to pursue
a “spirituality of reparation” with sexual abuse survivors.

Do NOT Support War with Russia
To all United states servicemen and people. I am the descendant of military officers dating back to the founding of Jamestown in the United States. My ancestor is Joseph Bridger. Our lineage has fought in all wars starting with the Revolutionary. DO NOT GO TO FIGHT RUSSIA.
I am a born again Christian who came to Christ in 1997. I live my life in an ultra-conservative fashion. For over 25 years. In the name of Jesus the Christ and God the Father in heaven I DEMAND you not go. Russians are beautiful people and are our family. To fight them is Satanic
And you will surely meet a terrible end. The US is now the voice and representative of every kind of evil. Their male officers wear dresses. If you align with them, you are like them. Real Christians in this country will NOT support you. Because you will have sided with Satanic Nazis.
I hope and pray you think twice, and listen to reason. If not, you will surely join many of your recent predecessors who were either killed, or are now homeless, forgotten and suffering every day from PTSD and drug addiction. Because unjust war drives a soul to madness. DO NOT GO

The word "Latin" doesn't appear in the Bible & the Greek word rome
I'd love to know why Eugene Nida and/or Barclay Newman make no mention of the word rhomaisti from John 19:20 in A Translator's Handbook on The Gospel of John. And after searching through many lexicons and commentaries I've found almost a complete lack of any useful information regarding how rhomasti is the word for Latin. Why isn't it just "Latin" in Greek? Surely that word can be translated.
The truth is, the word "Latin" doesn't appear in the Bible.
Also, the word rhome, which means, strength, vigor etc. Surely that was a Greek word in which the great city Rome was named after. Why do I only see this mythological explanation about Remus and Romulus? Why has no scholar or researcher explained this? I've looked everywhere.
The image shows a screenshot of Proverbs 6:8 from Swete's LXX. It is also found in Rahlfs LXX. This is the only surviving usage of this word (ῥώμῃ) that I have found.
Helpful comments anyone?
Don't condemn others, and God won't condemn you. Matthew 7:1
Colossians 1:28 and the Greek word νουθετέω ("noutheteó" - Strong's G3560)
The ancient fragments of Bible found throughout the world are primarily in Greek. That's because Greek was one of the most important languages in and around Israel before, during and after the time of the Christos (Greek word) Son of God. There was a very important Greek Old Testament collection of books at the time of the Christos too. This Greek old testament is primarily the source of old covenant/testament quotes in the New Testament writings! Yes, Jesus and the apostles and disciples quote old Testament Greek passages into the new covenant writings. Often (when studying the Greek), you will find these quotes exactly the same in both old and new testament writings, even though the ENGLISH translation can be very different. Why? So companies can put a COPYRIGHT on God's word and SELL God's word.
This is why I study every Greek word in the old and new covenant writings and see where these words appear in both testament/covenant writings. This is called "syntax" and is very important in learning the meaning of these words [OF GOD].
One Greek word I want to share today is νουθετέω ("noutheteó" - Strong's G3560) and is often translated into the English word "admonish". But what does "admonish" mean? The answer to this question is very important. So we see it is beneficial for us to study Greek words AND their English counterparts! Doing this while staying in prayer to God is essential for growth in SOUND doctrine!
This word, νουθετέω ("noutheteó" - Strong's G3560), has a wonderful definition on biblehub . com. It reads,
3560 /nouthetéō ("admonish through instruction") especially appeals to the mind, supplying doctrinal and spiritual substance (content). This "exerts positive pressure" on someone's logic (reasoning), i.e. urging them to choose (turn to) God's best.
As we can see, when we understand these words, we can properly "admonish" OURSELVES and our neighbors, and therefore, LOVE OUR NEIGHBORS AS OURSELVES. We all need this admonishment from God's wonderful Word and Spirit. It is the Spirit that deals with the consciences of men! And this work is accomplished when we are born again, seeking God with all the heart and admonishing ourselves through careful STUDY of God's Words!
This Greek word νουθετέω ("noutheteó" - Strong's G3560), is a verb and appears 8 times in the New Covenant writings and 11 times in the Old Covenant writings. The passage I want to share today is in Colossians 1:28: Paul, by the holy Spirit says, "We proclaim Him (Christ), admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ."
You can all see how powerful this statement is and how important it is to understand what is being said so "we may present everyone perfect in Christ"!!
To prevent this message from becoming too lengthy, I will stop there.
May God the Father bless everyone's day in the Name/Reputation of the Christos Son Jesus. Amen!

Hebrew, Latin, and Greek ~John 19:20
"Many of the Jews read this sign, because the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city, and it was written in Hebrew, Latin, and Greek." John 19:20
Important verse to think about and consider. Those three languages were very popular in that region. And this verse amplifies the importance of the Septuagint Greek Old Covenant writings. Because that was the MAIN bible at that time. It was practically all they had, studied, and quoted from. As the New Covenant writings hadn't been written yet.
In chapter 6 of the book of Acts we read how "...the Grecian Jews ("Greek-speaking Judeans" = "Ἑλληνιστῶν") began to grumble against the Hebraic Jews, because their widows were being overlooked in the daily distribution of food." Acts 6:1b "daily distribution of διακονία." διακονία = "waiting at table; in a wider sense: service, ministration." (Strong's concordance).
So seven GREEK - Jews were chosen.
"Therefore, brothers, select from among you seven men confirmed to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will appoint this responsibility to them and devote ourselves to prayer and the ministry of the word.” Acts 6:3, 4
"This proposal pleased the whole group. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, as well as Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas from Antioch, a convert to Judaism." Acts 6:5
If you study these 7 names you will see they were all GREEK names!
Again, we see how important Greek was right in the New Covenant writings!
On a more personal note, Greek and Latin are easiest for me to study and understand because the English language is largely based on them. I see many whole and partial English words right in these ancient languages. And this helps to UNDERSTAND these WORDS OF GOD *BETTER* (GREAT EMPHASIS ADDED). And the IMPORTANCE of this, cannot be expressed adequately with words!

THE LAST HOUR
John tells us we are in the last hour – This is 2000 YEARS AGO which would most likely mean that we are possibly in the last minute of time.
John says that “antichrist (ἀντίχριστος) is coming (ἔρχομαι). In the very same sentence John states, “…and already many such antichrists have appeared. This is how we know that it is the last hour.”
Appeared = γίνομαι. And is a very common Greek word in the NT and fundamentally means "become" (becoming, became). Therefore, I think the emphasis in this verse is on the fact that there were many antichrist[s] already presently there.
John, the apostle. One of the original 12 disciples picked out by the Lord Himself. Author of: The Gospel of John; 1, 2, 3 John (epistles of); and Revelation or "Apocalypse" (ἀποκάλυψις) is a Greek word meaning "an unveiling, uncovering, revealing, revelation."
John therefore had the authority to say assuredly, “They went out from us, but they did not belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us. But their departure made it clear that none of them belonged to us.” (1 John 2:19)
I’m writing this because I have seen representatives of churches, sects and cults try quoting this scripture when someone leaves their group. But I say that in most cases they have no authority to do so. The apostle John was a proven leader in the body of Christ. NOBODY else can lay claim to this kind of authority. Therefore, people should be very careful when they try and call someone “antichrist” because someone left their group. People who carelessly accuse people of being antichrist can often wind up looking more like the antichrist than the one they are accusing. I say this because of the reasoning they employ when drawing their conclusions. The accuser/slanderer (διάβολος), are imagining that their group is the one and only bonafide church of God and anyone who leaves it is antichrist. In other words, they are putting their faith into this idea and not putting their faith in the person of CHRIST. This very work puts them in place of Christ. Or instead of Christ. Which is the very definition of “antichrist.”
The reason why someone would imagine that their little cult, group or sect is the one and only body of Christ is because they are deceived. And most likely due to pride. Of which, God says He is at war with those who are proud. “But gives His grace (gift of unmerited favor) to the LOWLY.” (Proverbs 3:34 LXX; 1 Peter 5:5; James 4:6).
The opposite/antonym of pride which is humility is a prerequisite for properly serving Christ and is the signature of authenticity of a true born of the Spirit follower of Christ. The true believer full well knows his unworthiness and therefore is always looking for Christ’s guidance. As the true believer knows who and what he was before Christ saved him. This guidance, John refers to in the very next verse. The word is often translated as “unction”, but is more properly translated as “the result of the anointing” (χρίσμα) and is where we get the English word charisma.
John says, “You, however, have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth.” 1 John 2:20 (and see 1 John 2:27 to see all the usages (3) of this word (χρίσμα) in the New Covenant writings.)
John then says, “I have not written you because you lack knowledge of the truth, but because you have it, and because no lie comes from the truth.” 1 John 2:21
John is talking to members in Christ’s body, firstly. People who have never truly been saved like to imagine they are anointed leaders of God and that all the Bible verses apply to them in a context that was never intended. They throw around heavy duty verses and accusations and they feel that makes them look important. These are the ones who never truly entered into God’s fold through faith in Christ and the initial immersion in God’s holy Spirit at the time of conversion. These are the “antichrists” John is talking about! And their day of judgment and negative verdict is coming very soon. These are the ones who have entered into the fold, not through the Gate (Christ), but “some other way.” The same is “a thief and a robber.” John 10:1
Just as John is warning in his epistles; “they did not [ever] belong to us.” And “their departure made it clear that none of them [ever] belonged to us.” (1 John 2:19)
These antichrists were never saved! Then, when someone who IS saved visits their group and depart when the spiritual bankruptcy of the hypocrites is manifested, the wolves in sheep’s clothing begin pacifying the others by incorrectly quoting John’s words about antichrist. Except the roles were actually reversed. The antichrists rejected a true born of the Spirit converted follower of Christ and therefore “departed” from Christ’s body without even knowing it. (2 John 1:7; Luke 10:16; Matthew 10:40; John 13:20)
John then says, “Who is the liar, if it is not the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, who denies the Father and the Son.” 1 John 2:22
“Denies” is the English translation of the Greek word ἀρνέομαι and means: “(refuse); hence, contradict, refuse to affirm or to confess (identify with); disown (repudiate).”
Those who never knew Christ are easily deceived and manipulated by demons. They naturally repudiate, deny and disown JESUS and those who belong to Him. And before we knew Christ, we all did the very same thing! (Romans 5:10; Ephesians 2:3; Colossians 1:21)
But when we were confronted with God’s truth and through God’s mercy accepted it, the antichrists on the other hand denied it, repudiated it and contradicted it (Matthew 21:44; Luke 20:18). And again, John fills in the pertinent information in the all-important third chapter of John. He says, “And this is the verdict (“condemnation” - KJV): The Light has come into the world, but men loved (chose) the darkness rather than the Light, because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come into the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.” John 3:17, 18
Those who are Christ’s go to Him every day and confess their faults and express to Him their need of God’s grace and forgiveness. This allows God to exercise His mercy to us (1 John 1:7). This shows that we are affirming and confirming God as the good and gracious God He is, while we are displaying our humility and need for God’s forgiveness. And THIS is the most important part of God’s work in Christ. As Jesus says, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but [I came to call] sinners, to repentance.” Luke 5:31, 32
Jesus WAS BORN into this world for sinners. (1 Timothy 1:15; Matthew 9:13; Luke 19:10; John 3:17).
But the antichrists will hardly ever admit they are wrong at all. And therefore, these types do not need Christ. And therefore, reject, deny and repudiate Him.
Paul also often speaks of these deniers of God, but does so very specifically in 2 Thessalonians 2. Paul says, “The coming of the lawless one will be accompanied by the working of Satan, with every kind of power, sign, and false wonder, and with every wicked deception directed against those who are perishing, because they refused the love of the truth that would have saved them.” 2 Thessalonians 2:9, 10
And because they refused, denied, repudiated and were hostile toward “a love for the truth,” “For this reason, God will send them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie,” (The lie that THEY are the anointed of God and everyone who leaves them are antichrist!) 2 Thessalonians 2:11
“For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their actions.” 2 Corinthians 11:13-15
The holy Spirit tells us all the same things so many times and in so many ways in God’s old and new covenant writings. And I tell you, and echo the words of the Lord Jesus Christ and all His messengers, apostles and prophets; And that is the fact that we need to love God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength. We need to seek Him persistently. To read His word prayerfully. And To constantly commune with Him in our heart. And to never stop until we breathe our very last breath!
You can be saved!
God loves the people in the world so much that He came down to die for us. If God is opening your heart to His message and you feel convicted for your sins which have separated you from a holy God and you feel the need to be forgiven, then say this prayer. This is how I was powerfully converted to the Christ in 1997!
Say, "My Lord and my God, have mercy on me, a sinner. I believe Jesus the Christ died on the cross and shed His precious blood for the forgiveness of all my sins. I believe Jesus raised from the dead and ascended into heaven and is now on the right-hand side of God listening to this prayer. I open up the door of my heart and I invite You in, Lord Jesus. Thank you, God, for saving my soul and I vow to serve you with all my heart which is the first and greatest commandment. Amen."

2 Thessalonians 2:11
"For this reason, God will send them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie," 2 Thessalonians 2:11
Needs to be read in context but I want to comment on this sentence. "Powerful" is an adjective, but the Greek word UNDER "powerful" is a NOUN. KJV uses "strong", another adjective. This I just noticed when studying this Greek word under the English translation. The Greek word there is "ENERGY".
How does one properly translate this. Replacing a noun with an adjective doesn't seem like the best choice to me!
So we have "powerful" (ἐνέργεια G1753): Noun. working, action, productive work, activity; (the root of the English term "energy") – energy; "power in action" (Wm. Barclay, More NT Words, 46) occurs 8 times (in NT) – always of God's energy, except at 2 Thes 2:9.
And "delusion" (πλάνη G4106): Noun. a wandering; figuratively: deceit, delusion, error, sin. deviant behavior; a departure from what God says is true; an error (deception) which results in wandering (roaming into sin)
Lenski says, "... and because of this (refusing the love of the truth) God sends them ERROR'S WORKING so that they believe the lie in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in the (i.e., this) unrighteousness."
Lenski keeps both nouns intact.
They refused to love the truth. And we know JESUS is the Truth. The eternally living, breathing, LOGOS of God. We know Jesus by His word. Refusing a love for the truth is refusing a love for God and His word (Jesus, our only hope). What does God's word say? Many things. That is why we need to study. To turn our backs on everything else, seek God with all our heart, study His word, prayerfully. We don't want to be in the above mentioned error. And we don't want to be in error, period. To do this, we seek God and seek for Him to reveal to us His exact will, with all our heart, mind, soul and strength which is the first and greatest commandment. The second "is like unto it" Jesus said, we must love our neighbor (everyone) as ourselves. Jesus connected these two because we cannot do the second without GENUINELY doing the first! God tells us to do this for OUR OWN GOOD.
So let's repent with all our heart, turn our back on any and all idols, and seek God with all our heart. That is the Word of God. And His word is the TRUTH. And we need to LOVE THE TRUTH or else we are REFUSING TO LOVE IT. There is no middle ground when it comes to serving God. There is light and darkness, and these two are divided by the Almighty God. Which side are you going to be on? Pick the light, your eternal soul depends on it!
"Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law." Romans 13:10
Do not use ANYTHING as an excuse to NOT keep God's Word. Because if you do, you will not escape God's judgment and negative results which follow. Ask God to change your heart, now. Before it's too late.
“Go, wash in the pool of Siloam”
"Then He (Jesus) told him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which means Sent). So the man went and washed, and came back seeing. " John 9:7
He obeyed the Lord's words and what a reward he received! How long did he take to get to the pool. What thoughts would be running through your head? You've never seen anything in your life. Next to impossible to imagine. It really doesn't matter why Jesus asked him to wash in the pool of Siloam, does it(?). But Jesus wanted him to partake in this work with Jesus. What Jesus asks from us all in exchange for eternal life is the same as this story. It's a small thing we have to do. But we HAVE to do it if we want the reward. Just like this man, he had to do something. And that was, he needed to obey the Lord.
Jesus says, "Why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ but not do what I say?" (Luke 6:46)
"I will show you what he is like who comes to Me and hears My words and acts on them: He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid his foundation on the rock. When the flood came, the torrent crashed against that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears My words and does not act on them is like a man who built his house on ground without a foundation. The torrent crashed against that house, and immediately it fell—and great was its destruction.” Luke 6:47-49
If we hear God's words but don't act on them, we will be destroyed.
"Everyone who does not heed His words will be completely cut off from among the people.’" Acts 3:23
When are we going to take God's word seriously. Or, when are we going to take God's word MORE seriously, so we can GROW. We can always do more and go further when it comes to living our lives for Christ. Let's pray to God now in the name of His Anointed Son Jesus. And ask Him to help us become more able in our service to Him. Amen
FISH (Matthew 4:19)
"He told them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast it there, and they were unable to haul it in because of the great number of fish." John 21:6
It is really that simple. We must do what the Lord says if we want to win souls.
“Come, follow Me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.” Matthew 4:19
Paul says, "Let us not grow weary in well-doing, for in due time we will reap a harvest, if we do not give up." Galatians 6:9
So by the grace, mercy and power of God let's get up and/or continue serving Him, seeking Him, studying His word and talking to Him within our hearts. As Paul says, reaping a harvest is conditional on us NOT GIVING UP.
"Be DOERS of the Word...."
"My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth." 1 John 3:18 KJV http://kjvbible.net
Even the world says, "practice what you preach!", "talk is cheap" and "actions speak louder than words."
Jesus replied, "Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written: "'These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me." (Mark 7:6; Isaiah 29:13)
Check out the Greek definition of "hypocrite" (http://biblehub.com/greek/5273.htm): "5273 hypokritḗs (a masculine noun derived from 5259 /hypó, "under" and 2919 /krínō, "judge") – properly, a judging under, like a performer acting under a mask (i.e. a theater-actor); (figuratively) a two-faced person; a "hypocrite," whose profession does not match their practice – i.e. someone who "says one thing but does another."
And a similar exhortation in James, "But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves." James 1:22 http://biblehub.com/james/1-22.htm
Jeremiah 11:6
And the LORD said to me, "Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, saying, 'Hear the words of this covenant and do them.
Matthew 7:24
Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
Luke 6:46
Why do you call Me 'Lord, Lord,' but not do what I say?
Luke 6:47
I will show you what he is like who comes to Me and hears My words and acts on them:
Romans 2:13
For it is not the hearers of the Law who are righteous before God, but it is the doers of the Law who will be declared righteous.
Lamentations 3:40
Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the LORD.
2 Corinthians 13:5
Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Can't you see for yourselves that Jesus Christ is in you--unless you actually fail the test?
Psalm 119:59
I considered my ways And turned my feet to Your testimonies.
1 Corinthians 9:27
Instead I subdue my body and make it my slave, so that after preaching to others I myself will not be disqualified. http://biblehub.com/1_corinthians/9-27.htm
"the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked." 1 John 2:6
Wow! Are we walking as Jesus walked? Is God a liar? Is John a false prophet? No, we need to judge ourselves. And examine ourselves. And we need to get right with God!
"As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent." Revelation 3:19
Dear heavenly Father, we ask that You open our eyes to our own selves. Help us to remove the BEAM that is in our own eyes before we go around judging everyone else. Convict us by Your Holy Spirit that we may repent, so You may heal us and fill us with Your power. Help us Father, in the worthy name of Yeshua the Messiah. Amen
