Πάσα
δόξα (pasa doxa -- all glory) to Ἰησοῦς Χριστός (Iēsous Christos)
for this ἀποκάλυψις (apokalypsis -- revelation)!
The Setup: A Debate That Misses Everything
Across America, politicians and
religious organizations argue passionately about posting "The 10
Commandments" in schools and courthouses. It sounds righteous. It appears
biblical. But here is the question nobody asks: Did Χριστός (Christos --
Christ) ever tell anyone to "keep the 10 Commandments"?
Search the entire New
Testament. The phrase does not exist. Not once does Ἰησοῦς (Iēsous -- Jesus) or
any apostle command believers to "keep the 10 Commandments." This is
not a minor oversight -- it reveals that the entire political debate is built
on a foundation that Scripture itself never laid.
Even more telling: when Moses
came down from Sinai, he never announced, "Here are the 10
Commandments!" The Hebrew text -- and the Greek Septuagint that the
apostles used -- calls them τοὺς δέκα λόγους (tous deka logous) -- "the
ten words" or "the ten sayings." The authoritative-sounding
title "The Ten Commandments" is a later framing designed to create
religious authority and political leverage.
What Χριστός Actually Said Was Most Important
When asked directly about the
greatest commandment, Χριστός gave an answer that should settle this debate
permanently. In Ματθαῖος (Matthaios -- Matthew) 22:37-40, He declared:
"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart
and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first
commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."
Two commandments. Not
ten. And both are about ἀγάπη (agapē -- love). Χριστός Himself reduced
everything -- the entire νόμος (nomos -- law) and all the prophets -- to love
for Θεός (Theos -- God) and love for neighbor.
The Apostles Confirmed This
Παῦλος (Paulos -- Paul) made
this point repeatedly. In Ῥωμαίους (Rhōmaious -- Romans) 13:8-10, he
writes: "ὁ ἀγαπῶν τὸν ἕτερον νόμον πεπλήρωκεν" (ho agapōn ton heteron
nomon peplērōken) -- "The one who loves another has fulfilled the
law." He concludes: "πλήρωμα οὖν νόμου ἡ ἀγάπη" (plērōma oun
nomou hē agapē) -- "Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law."
In Γαλάτας (Galatas --
Galatians) 5:14, Παῦλος is even more direct: "ὁ γὰρ πᾶς νόμος ἐν ἑνὶ
λόγῳ πεπλήρωται" (ho gar pas nomos en heni logō peplērōtai) -- "For
the whole law is fulfilled in one word: You shall love your neighbor as
yourself."
One word. One λόγος
(logos). Ἀγάπη (agapē -- love). This is what Scripture actually
emphasizes -- not a numbered list supposedly carved in stone.
The Multilayered Ψυχαγωγία (Psuchagōgia -- Psyop)
Understanding why this matters
requires seeing the multiple layers of deception at work.
Layer 1: Virtue Signaling Theater
Politicians and religious
organizations spend enormous energy fighting to display "Thou shalt not
kill" and "Thou shalt not steal" on courthouse walls. Meanwhile,
the same system operates endless foreign interventions that kill innocents,
runs civil asset forfeiture programs that steal billions from citizens without
charges, and maintains the largest prison population on earth -- 2.3 million
people, representing 25% of the world's prisoners despite America having only
5% of the world's population.
They display commandment #9
("Thou shalt not bear false witness") while politicians lie routinely
and the justice system protects perjury by the powerful. The entire exercise is
κενοδοξία (kenodoxia -- vain glory) -- an empty display producing no actual
καρπός (karpos -- fruit).
Layer 2: Distraction from Real Κρίσις (Krisis -- Justice)
While Americans argue about
stone tablets on government walls, the actual κρίσις (krisis -- justice) system
is in complete scandal. The incarceration system disproportionately targets the
poor, while elites operate with impunity. Civil asset forfeiture has extracted
over $68 billion since 2000, often from people never even charged with crimes,
let alone guilty of a crime. Qualified immunity shields officials from
accountability for constitutional violations.
The debate about religious
symbols becomes a convenient distraction from the actual ἀδικία (adikia --
injustice) being perpetrated daily.
Layer 3: Legalism as Control
This emphasis on numbered rules
creates a fear-based religion rather than the ἀγάπη (agapē -- love)-based
relationship that Χριστός established. It is exactly what the Φαρισαῖοι
(Pharisaioi -- Pharisees) did -- obsessing over lists while missing κρίσις
(krisis -- justice), ἔλεος (eleos -- mercy), and πίστις (pistis -- faith). As 2
Κορινθίους (2 Korinthious -- 2 Corinthians) 3:6 declares: "τὸ γὰρ
γράμμα ἀποκτέννει, τὸ δὲ πνεῦμα ζῳοποιεῖ" (to gar gramma apoktennei, to de
pneuma zōopoiei) -- "For the letter kills, but the πνεῦμα (pneuma --
spirit) gives life."
Χριστός Exposed This Pattern Directly
In Ματθαῖος (Matthaios --
Matthew) 23:23, Ἰησοῦς pronounced judgment on exactly this kind of
religious theater:
"Woe to you, γραμματεῖς (grammateis -- scribes) and
Φαρισαῖοι (Pharisaioi -- Pharisees), ὑποκριταί (hupokritai -- hypocrites)! For
you tithe mint and dill and cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of
the νόμος (nomos -- law): κρίσις (krisis -- justice) and ἔλεος (eleos -- mercy)
and πίστις (pistis -- faith)."
They strain out gnats while
swallowing camels. They post commandments on walls while the system they
operate violates every principle those commandments represent.
What Θεός (Theos -- God) Actually Requires
Μιχαίας (Michas -- Micah)
6:8 states it plainly: "He has shown you, ἄνθρωπε (anthrōpe -- human),
what is good. And what does Κύριος (Kurios -- the Lord) require of you? To do
κρίμα (krima -- justice), to love ἔλεος (eleos -- mercy), and to walk humbly
with your Θεός (Theos -- God)."
Not stone tablets on walls. Not
political theater. Not religious debates that produce no fruit. But actual
justice for the oppressed, genuine mercy for victims, and humble relationship
with Θεός through Ἰησοῦς Χριστός.
Connection to the Γραφή Verification Framework
This analysis of the "10
Commandments" psyop connects directly to our larger work examining
corruptions and interpolations in γραφή (graphē -- Scripture). The same
methodology that exposes scribal additions and alterations in biblical
manuscripts also exposes the man-made framing of "The 10
Commandments" as authoritative in ways that Scripture itself never
establishes.
Consider how our 10-criterion
framework applies:
Criterion 1 (Pattern
Consistency): Χριστός consistently summarized νόμος (nomos -- law) as ἀγάπη
(agapē -- love). He never said "keep the 10 Commandments." The
pattern throughout the NT is love-based, not list-based.
Criterion 2 (Narrative
Coherence): Paul in Romans 13:8-10 and Galatians 5:14, John in his
epistles, James in James 2:8 -- all reduce the law to love. None establish a
"10 Commandments" requirement. The narrative is coherent when we
recognize ἀγάπη as the fulfillment.
Criterion 3 (Who Benefits?):
Religious and political institutions benefit from legalistic frameworks that
create fear-based compliance rather than ἀγάπη-based relationship with Θεός
(Theos -- God). The "10 Commandments" debates serve institutional
power, not the liberation Χριστός proclaimed.
Criterion 8 (Ἰησοῦς/Apostolic
Citation): Search the entire NT for an explicit command to "keep the
10 Commandments" -- it does not exist. Neither Ἰησοῦς nor any apostle ever
made this statement. This silence is deafening.
Criterion 9 (Χριστός
Character Match): Ἰησοῦς reduced everything to two commands based on ἀγάπη
(Matthew 22:37-40). The emphasis on numbered rules contradicts His own teaching
about what matters most. "He who has seen Me has seen the Father"
(John 14:9) -- and what we see in Ἰησοῦς is love, not legalism.
Criterion 10 (Πνεῦμα Fruit
Test): The "10 Commandments" political debates produce what
fruit? Political theater. Virtue signaling. ὑποκρισία (hupokrisia --
hypocrisy). They do not produce ἀγάπη, χαρά, εἰρήνη (agapē, chara, eirēnē --
love, joy, peace) or any fruit of πνεῦμα ἅγιον (pneuma hagion -- Holy Spirit).
They produce ἔργα τῆς σαρκός (erga tēs sarkos -- works of the flesh): strife,
divisions, factions.
This same framework is being
applied systematically to examine every questionable passage in γραφή -- from
the Lot narrative in Genesis 19, to the genocide commands in Joshua, to
interpolations in Paul's letters. The goal is to purify scripture -- to
separate the true λόγος (logos -- Word) from the corruptions that have been
inserted over centuries. The full Γραφή Verification Framework I am working on,
and the book-length analysis will include this and many other issues and
sections of scripture.
The Λόγος (Logos -- Logic/Word) Verdict
The entire "10
Commandments" political movement is ματαιολογία (mataiologia -- vain talk)
and ὑποκρισία (hupokrisia -- hypocrisy). None of them keep the commandments
they want to display. The system they operate produces the opposite of what
those commandments require.
Meanwhile, Χριστός already
settled what matters: ἀγάπη (agapē -- love) for Θεός and neighbor.
Everything else -- the entire νόμος (nomos -- law) and all the προφῆται
(prophētai -- prophets) -- hangs on this.
As Ἰωάννης (Iōannēs -- John)
14:15 says: "Ἐὰν ἀγαπᾶτέ με, τὰς ἐντολὰς τὰς ἐμὰς τηρήσετε" (Ean
agapate me, tas entolas tas emas tērēsete) -- "If you love Me, you will
keep My commands." His commands: love Θεός, love neighbor, do
κρίσις (krisis -- justice), show ἔλεος (eleos -- mercy).
Not: debate stone
tablets while running the world's largest prison system.
Πάσα δόξα (pasa
doxa -- all glory) to Ἰησοῦς Χριστός (Iēsous Christos), ὁ Λόγος (ho
Logos -- the Word) who exposes every ψυχαγωγία (psuchagōgia -- psyop)
and reveals ἀλήθεια (alētheia -- truth)!
