When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him

Proverbs 16:7

The Scripture of the day..

This verse has always stood out as very profound to me. Have you ever clearly seen this come to pass in your life? I just have and it was amazing.

This verse came to mind today as I was thinking about an ex member of Alamo Ministries who I kind of think of as a second mother now. Someone who I definitely considered my enemy before hand

It's obvious to me that it pleased the Lord for me to utterly forsake Alamo Ministries. For many reasons.

To the remaining Alamo Ministry members: What enemies are you at peace with? Or what "enemies" are at peace with you?

Alamo compared himself to Christ when Alamo was arrested. Alamo stated, "I'm just another prophet who was arrested for preaching the Gospel". He also at other times made reference to him being arrested 'like Jesus was arrested'.

But contrary to Alamo's claims, all the testimonies against Alamo DID line up one with another. But in regards to Jesus, the Bible states: "For many bare false witness against him, but their witness agreed not together. " Mark 14:56

Even Alamo's own defense Attorney stated, "This is a brutal case and testimony...." LINK "...We're going to have to focus on the intent of the cross-country trips and let the jury decide." In other words. He was hoping to get out of the obvious crime that happened with a technicality. The "brutal testimony" was the testimony of Alamo's accusers who's witness DID agree together.

This was simply not the case with JESUS.

"And Pilate, when he had called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people, Said unto them, Ye have brought this man unto me, as one that perverteth the people: and, behold, I, having examined him before you, have found no fault in this man touching those things whereof ye accuse him:" Luke 23:13

So really, how can Alamo even compare himself with Jesus the way he did?

Not that Tony Alamo is in trouble for polygamy. But Tony Alamo stated that the Bible doesn't forbid polygamy. But the Bible doesn't command polygamy either. In a land where it's against the law do you think your enemies would be at peace with you if you ignored their laws? Obviously in this case (at least), Tony's ways haven't pleased the Lord. In this case it would have pleased the Lord for Tony to have ONE wife. This way Tony's enemies would have been at peace with him. When Tony forsook the law and married multiple women that did NOT please the Lord. And the people weren't angry at Tony because Tony was "preaching the Gospel" like Tony continuously states. Being a polygamist doesn't save your soul. But believing the Gospel WILL save your soul. But Alamo then states, "well Jesus IS the whole Bible and Jesus, the Bible doesn't forbid polygamy and even promotes the marriage of very young women.." (paraphrasing) but then Tony now states additional books are ALSO the Bible, including the "book of Jasher". So this is where everything gets even more complicated. It is no longer the simplistic gospel.

Paul stated, "But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ." 2 Cor 11:3

"Simplicity" remaining Alamo members. Simplicity. There is no simplicity in the gospel according to Alamo. He had to tell you how to do everything. Funny how I made it on my own outside the "church" and have stayed Christ-minded.

I pray for those of you who still believe this utter fraud.

You should be furious at Alamo. Not only for his crimes. But for also damaging the reputation of many. Including Christ Himself!

Because think of the heinous crimes Tony Alamo has committed. Then think of him comparing himself to Jesus Christ. It would make one suspicious of Christ Himself! Christ! the spotless Lamb of God!

That is the truth!

God bless!

Just some things to think about...

I was going to only post the Scripture but decided to add some of my thoughts with that.. Enjoy!! or don't enjoy.. whatever....! :-)

I loved your post. I was thinking too, in regards to what you wrote here. Many people in the bible who disobeyed laws of the land that were evil were extremely, and obviously blessed by God. Daniel was gloriously delivered from the lions den. The three Hebrew children were delivered from the fiery furnace by the Lord, leading to the conversion of the King. The midwives who refused to murder the babies were blessed and given "houses" by God because they disobeyed an evil law of the land.

On a slightly separate topic, being persecuted for righteousness' sake. In the new testament, when preachers of the Gospel were persecuted, the Gospel, “multiplied and grew”.

We see the exact opposite with Alamo. The children of followers were taken away (listed as a curse in Deuternonomy 28). and a crowd of people was mocking Alamo when they lead him off to prison “bye bye Bernie”. Contrast that with Elijah (the children mocked him saying "go to now ye bald head" and were attacked by she bears. There's just no way all this lines up except to show Alamo is really evil.

Those who have supported him would probably state that many people have been persecuted for the Gospel and that this is another example. But the way it's happened here just does not line up with the Bible or reality the way they want to argue that it does. If he were innocent, then we would not see agreeing testimonies as we did. If he were keeping a righteous law of God in the face of an unrighteous commandment of man, then God would powerfully manifest Himself to show who and what he really favors. God is still alive! There is no way he would not manifest his power and goodness SOMEWHERE in this situation. And he has manifested Himself, but it just does not all fit together the way alamo's people want to say it does.

  3. Anonymous, who are you talking to? The person who left the comment or me? Obviously you feel very strongly about that statement. Enough to use all caps and many exclamation points. Who are you representing here? Tony Alamo? If you are why don't you say so and more clearly explain. Or will you be like your Pastor and not "testify"....

  7. Alamo should have obeyed, "Abstain from all appearance of evil" (1 Thess 5:22).

Since his drama became the "big deal" that exhausted everyone, nobody is exposing Jesuits any more.

I still believe that Christians need to be wary of any group that exercises so much benevolence that it creates co-dependent followers instead of making true disciples who becoming independently strong in the teachings of the Scriptures and are to form their own homes and livelihoods. Tony became a type of hierarchy and a mediator similar to the Roman Catholic system priesthood. He became like the rich grandpa that wanted to protect all of his grandchildren from the wolves and maintain them on his homestead. He wanted to be the God substitute that his followers could touch and see.

This is a red flag. True shepherds or teachers should never allow themselves to become idols in the lives of their congregation. Read the Commandments in Exodus 20.

We do need to pray for the children´s salvation and welfare who have been taken out of their homes. We need to pray most of all that they not lose their faith in YHWH because of the unwise decisions of their parents.

Very seldom will a foster parent demonstrate love for the foster children simply because they do not possess agape love which is unconditional and usually can only be found in the biological parent whose conscience is not seared and in those who possess an agape love connection with their Creator.

YHWH standards are very high. His promises are those who truly are peacemakers and not lawbreakers and who do not allow rage to take root in their souls. When we remain angry--we allow an evil spirit to enter in. We need to forgive and those who can minister or pray for those families who have suffered the loss of their children.
    His promises: Psalms 91.

I think 5:25 anonymous made some good points. I was looking into scriptures talking about what the Lord wants a Christian leader to be like. I found some scriptures in the New Testament which I think shed some light on the situation. Luke 22 "25": And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.

"26": But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.

"27": For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth.

Also Mark 10: "42": But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them.

"43": But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister:

"44": And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.

"45": For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

And then I looked into the Old Testament, how the Lord did not want the people to have a king, and in fact it angered him when they insisted because it meant they did not want only Him to have rulership over them. He told Samuel he would provide a king as they requested but that it would not go well. Why would Alamo call himself a "king with subjects" and be proud of this? I was thinking this is probably a big part of why people get involved with cults-- with places that profess to be churches but in fact have a leader who leads the people wrongly and in fact they like that and accept it. It seems like it is the same instinct that caused them to want a king in the Old Testament, as explained above, even to their own hurt. But the Lord makes it clear in the New Testament what Christian leaders are supposed to be like, servants, giving themselves for the sheep. And I think it is simple, like spiritually smart said what a servant or shephard means, not confusing. It's such a relief to realize that that sort of control Alamo executed was not the way the Lord wanted it. All the tiny nitpicky rules, people reporting on each other, always on edge. The Lord said "my yoke is easy and my burden is light" and just like with Ananais and Saphira, if real sin is going on in secret, The Lord will take care of it. Praise the Lord!

A critically-important proverb. Whenever I set myself against people e.g. my mother - hate her for causing all my problems - nothing ever goes right. When I make my peace with her there is no burden and everything is easy.
